Payout methods
Payout methods are the providers you pay affiliates through, configured once at the workspace level.
PayPal
PayPal is the method on offer. It runs on your own PayPal account: the money leaves your balance, and Ecomyard never holds it. Trolley and store credit are no longer offered; an affiliate still set to one of them is asked to pick PayPal in their portal.
- Open Payout methods under Affiliates and choose Connect on PayPal.
- Pick Live. A sandbox app moves test money, so Pay out refuses to pay a real balance from it; use sandbox only to try the setup.
- Paste the Client ID and Secret of a REST app from your PayPal developer dashboard. Ecomyard checks them with PayPal before saving, and the secret is never shown again.
- In the same PayPal app, add a webhook for the URL the connect screen shows, subscribed to the payout events it lists, and paste its Webhook ID. Ecomyard checks with PayPal that the webhook belongs to that app, points at that URL and sends those events, so a payout can never hang on a typo.
Each method shows its connection status, the account it is linked to, and how many affiliates use it. Disconnect stops using it.
How it relates to payouts
When you pay an affiliate on the Payouts page, the payout uses that affiliate's method. Connecting and defaulting methods here keeps that flow clean.
Connecting PayPal is for an owner or admin. A role that may manage payouts can disconnect it.
